The Chromebook category has always had a singular focus: simplified access to Google's web services through affordable hardware, often times well below the $350 mark. But with the introduction of the Chromebook Pixel, Google is attempting to prove that the Chromebook can be more than a cheap supplemental computer — it can also be the high-end machine of a cloud-based future. Sporting a stunning 2560x1700 touchscreen display, an anodized aluminum chassis, and an Intel Core i5 processor, the Chromebook Pixel shares more DNA with a MacBook Pro than a netbook.
For a moment there it looked like Johnny Depp might not be able to star in executive producer Christopher Nolan's sci-fi film Transcendence, but that situation now appears to have resolved itself.
According to a press release, filming on Transcendence is now set to begin in April under the direction of Oscar winner Wally Pfister, the cinematographer of Inception and the Dark Knight trilogy who is making his feature film directing debut on the movie.
While the official release wouldn't divulge plot details, prior reports claim Depp plays a scientist who is reportedly working on a programming code for the world's first fully self-aware computer.
