Hawkeye #8 Review IGN All

I’m not sure it’s accurate to call Hawkeye one of the best superhero books the shelf because it’s about Clint Barton during his off-time doing increasingly un-super things in the name of pizza dogs, kindly neighbors, and fine women. This book ain’t about heroes. It’s about life, bro. This is one of the best life books on the shelf.


Penny -- the girl from the sweet car chase issue -- is back and has shown up to give Clint one more reason to get into trouble. He’s already not doing so hot with his “friend girl” Kate, and the Black Widow and Mockingbird cameos are just icing on the heartbreak cake. Between these past couple issues, Clint has amassed more bandages than Owen Wilson in The Darjeeling Limited, although its his personal life that has taken the most damage. Yet he never gives up. It sounds easy when I say it like that, but writer Matt Fraction puts the maximum hurt on his hero, giving us all the more reason to love him.
