Electonic Arts’ quarterly earnings for its fiscal Q2 2015 (ending September 30, 2014) exceeded expectations, with the Battlefield Hardline and FIFA 15 publisher earning a net revenue of more than $1.2 billion dollars.
FIFA, Madden NFL, and Hockey Ultimate Team contributed to this enormous success, growing 96% year over year.
Digital growth, particularly around its Ultimate Team services, continues to see monumental success for EA. "By emphasizing player engagement and our digital live services, we’ve grown revenue, expanded gross margins and delivered EPS well above prior year and our guidance," said Chief Financial Officer Blake Jorgensen.
EA also spent $95 million buying back 2.6 million in shares in Q2, the period in which it launched FIFA 15, Madden NFL 15, NHL 15, and The Sims 4.
