First off, let’s just get out of the way… That dude’s tongue was pulled through his throat!!!!
At this point, Hannibal is basically laughing in the face of anyone who dared say it would be held back, content-wise, on NBC. It’s sick and twisted in all the right ways and the most creatively gory show I’ve ever seen on network TV.
This excellent episode centered on the escape of Dr. Gideon (Eddie Izzard) and the question of just what the “is he or isn’t he?” Chesapeake Ripper would do next. Of course, we know the real Ripper is Hannibal, so now we had two men with a vested interest in the Ripper’s identity out and about.
