The rumor mill claims Benicio Del Toro may not be playing Thanos in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy as many fans had speculated.
Instead, claims ComicBookMovie.com, the Oscar winner will instead play Taneleer Tivan, a.k.a. The Collector, one of the Elders of the Universe who can wield the Power Primordial. An immortal, he fends off eternal boredom by roving the cosmos collecting different artifacts and beings. Hence, "The Collector."
