The ability to rent multiplayer servers for the console versions of Battlefield 4 is coming soon, according to Electronic Arts.
In response to a recent question about whether server rentals were still coming, an EA spokesperson answered, "Indeed, it is coming. I'm afraid we don't have any information on this quite yet, but it is coming soon! Keep your eyes peeled on the Control Room and Battlefield blog, as those are most likely where you'll see it announced first."
Since launching late last year, Battlefield 4 players have had to play on EA-run multiplayer servers. That means players have been unable to alter the map rotations of servers (meaning they have to leave servers whenever an undesirable map comes up) or customize options like allowing the minimap in Hardcore mode.
