Sony announced today that the HBO Go app for the PS3 will be available for download "later today." Sony initially revealed HBO Go for PlayStation 3 and Playstation 4 back in January; the status of the PS4 app is still unknown.
The app, which requires an HBO subscription and cable service through a participating cable provider, allows unlimited streaming of HBO content. A large selection of complete series of the most popular shows, such as True Detective, The Wire, Girls, Boardwalk Empire, and more, are available. In addition to the HBO original series, there are documentaries, sports specials, and movies that can be streamed.
