Warning: Full spoilers from the episode to follow.
In terms of progressing the overall plot, tonight's episode of How I Met Your Mother went a long way in expanding the ever-growing mystery surrounding the Mother. However, on the other side of the coin, it was business as usual for Season 9, as the Wedding Weekend stayed on course, with few new developments. For Robin, this week's "Vesuvius" meant a pre-wedding viewing of (what else?) The Wedding Bride -- or rather it's sequel The Wedding Bride Too. But the majority of this storyline was focused on Lily, who was busy attempting to trigger Robin's "Oh my God, this is my wedding!" moment.
In truth, this was the probably the weakest part of the episode, as we were shown one too many clips of Chris Kattan as TWB's "Jed Mosley" and Lily trying to get a rise out of Robin (to no avail, duh). It was actually the final scene here that delivered the real payoff, as Robin's mother (played by Tracey Ullman) made her on-screen debut -- an appearance that fans have been waiting to see since the season began. Other than that, though, this storyline wasn't very memorable, even with the return of Lucy Hale as Robin's sister Katie.
