Mobile developer Next Games has announced it is producing a mobile game based on AMC's popular The Walking Dead series.
Developed specifically and exclusively for smartphones and tablet devices, the forthcoming title is expected to launch alongside The Walking Dead's season 5.
“We’re thrilled to be part of this next wave of games innovation and participating in a project that – like the show itself – is in service of the fans,” said president of AMC, Charlie Collier.
The Helsinki, Finland-based Next Games was founded in 2013 and consists of industry veterans from Rovio, SuperCell and Disney. The studio's self-stated mission is the development of narrative-driven, free-to-play games. Next Games CEO, Teemu Huuhtanen, added the game will match the "moment-to-moment tension of the TV series."
