Back in February 2011, work was started on S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2, the fourth game in the cult-popular series from Ukrainian studio GSC Game World. Ten months later, CEO Sergei Grigorovich unexpectedly and suddenly shut down the company for "personal reasons". But things didn't quite end there.
A group of former employees decided to start up their own studio, Vostok Games, and build a new game from the irradiated rubble of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. sequel. That's Survarium, a free-to-play MMOFPS set in the irradiated rubble of a post-apocalyptic world. It's almost like a metaphor or something.
