In the 1990s, Todd McFarlane garnered worldwide acclaim for his comic book character Al Simmons, aka Spawn. Now, the creator is suing one of his former employees, a man who happens to be named -- you guessed it -- Al Simmons.
According to a lawsuit filed in Arizona federal court, the real Simmons released a book entitled The Art of Being Spawn, which claimed that he and his life served as an inspiration for the Spawn character. As a result, The Hollywood Reporter says that, as McFarlane sees it, Simmons has "violated the terms of his employment pact and breached his duty of loyalty."
