During a call discussing its second quarter earnings today, EA said it’s disappointed by critical reception to Medal of Honor Warfighter. Following mixed reviews -- including a 4.0 from IGN -- EA CEO John Riccitiello commented that the launch “is coming in below our expectations.”
“We’re disappointed with the critical reception," said EA Labels president Frank Gibeau. "Internal testing and mock reviews indicated that the game is better than the
score we have right now. We believe it is. However, we are seeing folks out there that just don’t like the game."
Gibeau added that EA is “not happy” with how the game has been received by critics, saying product quality is taken seriously at EA and "it’s the lifeblood of what we do.” He added that the game will continue to be supported by marketing well into the holiday season, including the release of downloadable content to tie in with upcoming Bin Laden assassination film Zero Dark Thirty.
