The panelists were introduced to much applause: Scott Snyder, Greg Capullo, FCO, Jonathan Glapion, Kyle Higgins, James Tynion IV, Peter Tomasi, Gregg Hurwitz and David Finch.
They showed off the cover for Batman #16, featuring a Joker wearing a vest made of Robin’s costume. Snyder polled the crowd, “Avengers vs. X-Men, who wins?” to which the crowd responded with a resounding, “Batman!”
He moved into discussion Death of the Family saying, “The idea behind it is that Joker looks around that sees Batman has accumulated this family around him. He thinks to himself, ‘I’m your family. I’m your court jester. I chose Gotham to be my kingdom.’” Snyder described Joker’s mindset, saying that he’s willing to burn down the whole kingdom in order to make Batman come out stronger on the other side, and how he’s chastising the other rogues about not doing their jobs.
