Avengers EMH: "Live Kree or Die" Review IGN All

Warning: full episode spoilers follow.


After inexplicably taking a week off in the middle of a two-part storyline, Earth's Mightiest Heroes returned this weekend with the penultimate episode in the series. "Operation Galactic Storm" set the bar awfully high, so I wasn't necessarily surprised when "Live Kree or Die" failed to match it. It was a decent follow-up episode, but not one that made full use of the premise, or even necessarily justified the two-part structure in the first place.


If nothing else, this episode was heavy on the sci-fi action. There was a neat little spacecraft chase sequence that felt reminiscent of the Death Star trench run. Meanwhile, half of the team squared off against gigantic Kree training monsters in a scene that was equal parts Star Wars and John Carter. Best of all, we got to see Thor cut loose in a way we rarely have over the course of the show. It was a treat to watch Thor call forth the full power of the storm, wipe out the Kree military (even if mostly off camera) and then bring the hammer down on the Supreme Intelligence. Where is this Thor when the Serpent Society or Wrecking Crew are pestering Manhattan every time?
