Warning: Full spoilers for the episode follow...
After hitting what I thought was an all-time rock bottom for Nucky last week, I don't think I was expecting him to still be scrambling so much in "A Man, a Plan" - an episode that delivered a big, character subtracting moment for the series while still feeling like more(!) set up for the final two episodes. The intrigue is still in place, and I enjoy spending time with most of the characters, but the pot has more than bubbled over by now.
Since it was unlikely that Margaret and Owen would actually steal off together (as if the show would also follow their separate exploits in St. Louis) we could all probably guess that something had to go wrong with their plan. Because as distant as Margaret and Nucky have become, on this show, her place is at his side. Or, at least, in his house. Plus, Owen's fate was tragically sealed when he was sent to kill Joe Masseria, who history, as well as other movies that have depicted Masseria's real death, tells us does not die at this time, or in a Turkish bath house. So despite Owen thinking he didn't need an army, only "patience and an opportunity," it was easy to pick up on the fact that he wasn't coming back.
