Cate Blanchett is currently in negotiations to play the evil stepmother in Disney's forthcoming remake of Cinderella, says one insider close to the project.
If this report from The Wrap is true, Blanchett would be the first person cast in the untitled live-action feature. The project was set up at the Mouse House in May 2010, following the box office success of the studio's Alice in Wonderland.
