Hitchcock Review IGN All

Coming out just weeks after HBO aired their salacious biopic The Girl, Fox Searchlight’s Hitchcock presents a tamer, yet still engrossing look at the personal and professional life of the Master of Suspense.


Anthony Hopkins, encased in a fat suit and buried under makeup, plays the iconic filmmaker who, fresh off the success of North by Northwest, is nevertheless faced with the prospect of growing stale in his old age. Yearning for a return to the challenges and fun of his early filmmaking days, Hitch is determined to make the Robert Bloch book Psycho his next project. Problem is that no one wants to fund what they consider a gross, exploitive, and irredeemable piece of horror schlock.
