It's off to the chopping block for Guillermo del Toro's stop-motion Pinocchio movie, which had Daniel Radcliffe and Tom Waits in talks to join. Gris Grimly, who illustrated the original storybook on which the film would've been based, revealed via Twitter this week that the feature project is no longer happening.
Bleeding Cool was able to secure the tweets before they were removed earlier today. "Short to the point update on Pinocchio for those inquiring: It appears that this is not the right time for such a superior-adventurous flick," Grimly said. He then replied to a fan, adding, "There are people like us out there. But they look at numbers. Frankenweenie was a box office failure to them."
