The Flash #15 Review IGN All

The Flash has been one of the New 52’s best looking books, issue after issue, thanks to the phenomenal talents of Francis Manapul. His layouts are unique and electrifying, befitting the style of the Scarlet Speedster. But while the art serves up a three course meal of awesome, the actual story is nothing but empty calories.


What makes this such a shame is that all the makings of a compelling superhero story are present. Flash #15 explores the ever-deepening mythology of the Speed Force, the villainous Gorilla Grodd has all but taken over his home city, and a woman who loves him fights by his side. Yet by the end of the issue you'll be closer to stifling a yawn than pumping your fist. Some parts are overwritten while others feel skimped on. The anti-hero group of Rogues still lack any manner of compelling characterization. Grodd’s plan is as generic as it is forgettable.
