Ultimate Comics Spider-Man #19 Review IGN All

Brian Michael Bendis continues to wow me with his remarkable new Spider-Man, Miles Morales. It feels good that all the hubbub about his race has dissipated and now the only reason you hear about this book is when people talk about how amazing it is. Venom has returned looking the same monstrous way he did back during his original Ultimate debut, and with Sara Pichelli putting her own spin on the design, it’s just another reason to get pumped about Ultimate Comics Spider-Man.


You often hear a lot of complaints about Venom being the epitome what fans didn’t like about 90s comics, but the Ultimate Venom had an updated, sensible and personal origin that made you care about it. With only a short appearance here it is hard to say if it will tie into Miles’s story as strongly as it did Peter’s, but with his excellent new Ultimate Scorpion and Batroc as proof, Bendis has my trust that he’ll deliver yet again.
