A Skype employee suggests that the service could be integrated into Xbox in the future. In a comment to TechRadar, Skype mobile marketing head Derek Snyder discussed the possibility.
"If it's an Xbox we're trying to connect to - it's probably not that hard to believe we're looking at that - what does that mean for gaming?” Snyder asked. “How does Skype enhance the gaming proposition? Of course Xbox has things with voice and messaging chat at the moment, but does video make sense for that case?"
Integration into Microsoft’s console -- whether it’s Xbox 360 or its upcoming successor -- isn’t necessarily surprising since Microsoft purchased Skype for $8.5 billion in 2011. Last year, Skype job listings suggested that the company was seeking a software engineer for work on Xbox.
