Sony Still Mum on PS Vita Price Cut in the West IGN PS3

On February 18th, Sony announced that it would cut the price of Vita in Japan. Both the 3G and Wi-Fi models would cost the same price: ¥19,980 (or about $215/£140). But when we asked Sony if the price cut would also come west, they told IGN that there was nothing to announce.


Following PlayStation 4’s reveal in New York City, Sony’s Shuhei Yoshida confirmed that Vita’s price cut was Japan-only, at least for now. At the time, he said it was more a matter of exchange rate and fair pricing for Vita in Japan (since it was more expensive there out of the gate than it was in, say, the United States) than an actual, bona fide price cut.
