They say a wizard is never late, but in the case of The Hobbit: There and Back Again, Gandalf and company will be slightly delayed.
Deadline reports that Warner Bros. has pushed back the release date of Peter Jackson's third and final Hobbit film, moving its original date of July 14, 2014, to December 17, 2014. The fantasy feature will now avoid going head-to-head against Bryan Singer's X-Men: Days of Future Past and is thus far debuting solo in the December 17 slot.
The next installment in the franchise, The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, is still scheduled to open on December 13 of this year.
