Note: Amazon have released 14 new pilots simultaneously . None of them are picked up to series as yet, but Amazon will be analyzing the reaction to these initial 14 to decide which they’ll move forward with. We’ll be reviewing the eight comedy pilots Amazon have released (the six others are for kids’ series).
I love The Onion and so I really wanted to also love Onion News Empire.
As you may have guessed by the tone of that first line, alas, Onion News Empire is not a home run, but it has its moments to be sure, with several very funny bits. However, for a show going for such an offbeat, eccentric tone, the energy sags notably at times – as do the strength of the jokes.
