With The Flash #19, writer Brian Buccellato strikes a balance between a single-issue story and a multi-issue arc. Within the myriad of problems the poor Barry Allen has been juggling, this issue is capable of standing alone while incorporating the series’ larger themes. There’s a clear and complete narrative arc that satisfies while leaving fans wanting more. It’s a tricky act but Buccellato pulls it off nicely.
