The Walking Dead came into Season 3 guns blazing. After some criticism that Season 2 had been too slow-paced, the writers -- under showrunner Glen Mazzara’s guidance (at this point) – seemed determined to push back on that perception in a big way. And on that score, they delivered.
Once more, the season was split into two distinct halves, and the first portion of Season 3, in the fall, was easily the best the show has ever been for a prolonged period of time. From the exciting season premiere, “Seed”, on, the mixture of intriguing and involving character beats, zombie horror and action was expertly done and week to week, there was a ton to enjoy about the series.
