Green Lantern screenwriter Michael Green will pen the screenplay for Blade Runner 2.
Ridley Scott remains attached to produce and direct the follow-up to his 1982 sci-fi classic for Alcon Entertainment.
Hampton Fancher, who co-wrote Blade Runner, was previously reported as scripting Blade Runner 2.
It remains to be whether Blade Runner 2 will be a sequel, prequel or use any of the surviving characters, such as Harrison Ford's Rick Deckard, from the original movie.
