Unsurprisingly, E3 2013's first big press conference saw Microsoft drastically reposition the Xbox One after a reveal that could generously be described as confusing, and less generously as borderline disastrous. Having introduced Xbox One as an entertainment box, Microsoft reintroduced it today as what we originally wanted to see: a next-generation games machine. Saving all the games for E3 might have harmed the Xbox One's initial reception for gamers, but it certainly led to an impressive E3 conference. It was game after game after game, and barring a few entertaining technical hiccups with the sound (“Xbox, unmute!”), the conference was Microsoft at its slickest and most professional.
