Director Christopher Nolan's new science fiction film Interstellar has now commenced filming in Alberta, Canada, Paramount Pictures and Warner Bros. announced today.

The film will be shot in a mix of 35mm and IMAX, and will lens at different locations around the globe. The studios said the script is based on the combination of an original idea by Nolan and an existing script by his brother Jonathan Nolan, originally developed for Paramount Pictures and producer Lynda Obst.
