Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. premieres tonight on ABC, and the IGN office is buzzing with excitement. A Marvel TV show?! Continuing the movie universe?! From producer Joss Whedon?!
There is so much awesome to be pumped for, but we thought we’d try and narrow it down to just five reasons.

We’re not talking about seeing new superheroes (but we’ll get to that later), but rather the introduction of all new characters in the Marvel Universe. If Phil Coulson is any indication, Marvel’s got a good handle on what makes a character compelling regardless of his or her previous affiliation (or lack thereof) with comic book history.
