As the many editorial captions make perfectly clear, Action Comics has become inescapably tied to the main Superman series, so if you’re not reading both then you are going to be thrown for a loop. Unfortunately, this Psi War story doesn’t seem grand enough to take over two of Superman’s titles. Instead, it feels like it’s hogging a slot that another creative team could be using to tell a completely different -- and possibly better -- Superman story. While this issue isn’t that bad, it certainly doesn’t have enough positives to redeem this wayward series.
