Well, this is an interesting development in FOX's US remake of Broadchurch. Doctor Who's David Tennant, the star of the original (and very acclaimed) UK version of the series has now signed on to star in the US version as well, EW reveals.
As in the original, Tennant will play the lead role of Alex Hardy, a detective investigating the death of a boy in a small, seaside town. Of course, in this version, Hardy is an American, with the show now set in the US. Doctor Who and Torchwood veteran Chris Chibnall, who created Broadchurch, is also executive producing the new version and writing the first episode, with Dan Futterman (Capote) and Anya Epstein (In Treatment) serving as executive producers and showrunners.
