Nintendo president Satoru Iwata has announced that Sonic will be a playable character in the new 3DS and Wii U Smash Bros.
The announcement came during today's Nintendo Direct, along with a new trailer, which we'll have for you soon. You can see screens on the Smash Bros official site.
This brings the total number of announced Smash Bros characters to 17. My favourite's still Toon Link.
