A new system update is now available for Nintendo 3DS, bringing additional Nintendo Network ID functionality as well as Miiverse integration.
As was announced during a Nintendo Direct last month, the new update allows you to register a Nintendo Network ID to your Nintendo 3DS, which means you can have one unified login and eShop account for both your handheld and Wii U console, bringing together your balances and Wish Lists. To reiterate, your funds will be pooled for use on either device and you can see a combined purchase history.
Alongside this, Miiverse is now available on 3DS. While the full experience will require a broadband Internet connection, an offline mode will still allow you some functionality, such as the ability to queue up to three posts while offline that can be posted once you're back online. You can also post screenshots from either the top or bottom display of the handheld.
