The weakest element of this Batman and Two-Face storyline has been the underwhelming new villainess, Erin McKillen, and her underdeveloped ties to Bruce Wayne and Harvey Dent. Issue #26 makes some inroads, luckily, as it does far more than the previous two to explore that shared past and the bitter rivalry that has developed between Erin and Harvey.
Erin receives some much-needed character growth in both the past and present story threads. In the present, Pete Toamsi delivers an extended dinner scene between her and Bruce. Aside from a clever opening twist where the reader discovers Erin has been tied up during their entire conversation, these scenes flesh out the bond Bruce shares with Erin and shared with her late twin sister. Alfred's disdain for Erin also leads to some amusing exchanges.
