Sounds like it’s full-steam ahead on the Freddie Mercury flick, with a director and star closing deals to work on the biopic.
Sacha Baron Cohen was previously attached to play Mercury, but pulled out several weeks ago. And now Ben Whishaw – best known as Q in Skyfall – has landed the gig of playing the larger-than-life Queen frontman.

According to Deadline, Dexter Fletcher will direct, with the Sunshine on Leith helmer already meeting with members of the band to prepare for a 2014 shoot.
