The release of a game's box art is rarely the source of any revelations, but with Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, the artwork may have revealed the identity of the fourth playable character in the game as Cranky Kong.
The cover for the European release of Tropical Freeze surfaced online today, and along with the three characters we know are playable -- Donkey Kong, Diddy Kong, and Dixie Kong -- it features Cranky Kong. Cranky is a character who has been a part of the Donkey Kong franchise since the original Donkey Kong Country and has been seen outside of it, including in the Super Smash Bros. series, but he has never been featured as a playable character in any game in a prominent way.
