So they did it. After two years of "hurry up and wait," the WWE finally went all in on their promise of a 24/7 WWE Network. And at a big CES presentation yesterday at the Wynn Las Vegas, Vince McMahon introduced us to the future of not only the WWE, but of streaming media.
Forgoing the cable TV model, the WWE Network will be a streaming service available at all times on numerous platforms and devices. It will feature original content, Pay-Per-Views (at no extra cost), and an amazing back catalogue of wrestling events - both PPV and broadcast. There are still many questions out there regarding service for countries outside of North America (it's coming, just not 'til later), the official inclusion of WWE's entire library (AWA, Georgia Championship Wrestling, Memphis, Global, etc), and whether or not you should chuck all of your DVD sets in the trash. Seriously, the way the Network is playing things, it'll have every match from all those compilations ready to roll at a double-click.
