Rumors suggest that Blizzard’s San Francisco office has been hit by “serious” layoffs.
The report first originated on OnGamers, which suggests that “large portions” of the office have been let go, including “the entire video department in the office” and multiple employees from “online publishing and broadcasting.” The engineering department is said to have been "reintegrated with the rest of the company."
The San Francisco office includes many former members of IGN Pro League, which was owned by IGN until early 2013 but sold to Blizzard in April. Kevin Knocke, formerly of IPL, was initially reported to have been let go, but has since tweeted, “Despite the articles going around, I'm still very much employed at Blizzard.”
