CIA analyst Jack Ryan is back this month in a reboot of the action franchise that revolves around the hugely popular Tom Clancy character. Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit takes viewers back to the beginning of the story, with Chris Pine playing the CIA Analyst at the start of his career, way before the events of The Hunt for Red October, Patriot Games, Clear and Present Danger and The Sum of All Fears.
This time around the plot follows Ryan’s efforts to uncover a huge economic conspiracy, with the film featuring Kevin Costner as his CIA handler, Keira Knightley as his fiancée, and Kenneth Branagh as a shady Russian oligarch, with the latter also directing.
