Advance Review: First things first: There's nothing groundbreaking going on here with FOX's new hijinx-filled Army comedy Enlisted. Second things second: It's a funny show.
While being nothing new, Enlisted is just well done. This premiere episode suffers from more than a few symptoms of "pilot-itis," sure, but the good outweighs the necessary evil. What you'll get here, with Enlisted (from Scrubs writer and Cougar Town co-creator Kevin Biegel) is another "ragtag" comedy featuring a main character who suffers some sort of shame/demotion which forces him to consort with a gang of misfits he'd never regularly deal with. When done right, you get Community. Wrong? You get countless TV corpses like Outsourced, Back in the Game, and Go On (which itself was NBC's attempt to create a "broader" Community).
