The 2014 BAFTA nominations have been announced, and Gravity leads the way with 11 nominations, including Best Film, Best Director for Alfonso Cuaron, Best Actress for Sandra Bullock, as well as deserved visual effects and sound nods.
American Hustle and 12 Years a Slave aren’t far behind with 10 nominations apiece, while Captain Phillips bagged nine.
In the Best Picture category it’s those films plus Philomena, meaning there’s no place for Inside Llewyn Davis or The Wolf of Wall Street.
Another shut-out is Man of Steel in the Visual Effects category, where Pacific Rim, Iron Man 3, Star Trek Into Darkenss,The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug and the aforementioned Gravity all received nominations.
