When it was announced last week that Marvel will begin publishing Star Wars comics in 2015, it wasn't a surprise so much as a long-awaited confirmation of what most readers expected. Star Wars will be back at Marvel after spending over two decades at Dark Horse. Whether this will ultimately mean good things for the franchise remains to be seen, but the possibilities are certainly enticing.
Times have certainly changed since Marvel published their long-running Star Wars comic in the late '70s and early '80s. Fans expect a lot from their Expanded Universe stories, and it's up to Marvel to meet the high standard set by Dark Horse. We have a few ideas for how they can do right by this franchise, meeting and perhaps even raising the bar set by Dark Horse in the process.
