As The Following panel began at the TCA (Television Critics Association) press tour today, Kevin Williamson was asked if the show would be just as violent in Season 2 as the first season and he replied, “I would say I find it less violent than last year.” Williamson asked if his cast agreed, and Kevin Bacon smiled and replied, after a long pause, “Uh… yeah!”
Williamson went on to say he felt Season 2 is “a different show. It’s a different story. I don’t run away, I don’t shy away from violence, but I never, ever want to do gore for the sake of gore. I want it to push the story forward, make you gasp and make you afraid for the characters in the situation.” He couldn’t resist adding, “I like a little violence, sorry!”
