After a year of hundreds of new Kickstarter projects, the crowd-funding website released stats covering the number of backers, the amounts they pledged and averages of both.
According to Kickstarter's "The Year in Kickstarter" page, 3 million backers pledged $480 million to projects in 2013 –– this averages out to $1,315,520 pledged a day, or $913 per minute. The backers came from 214 countries and territories, and all seven continents.
Some backers were more generous than others: 975 people personally backed more than 100 different projects.
