Lone Survivor Ices Frozen at Weekend Box Office IGN All

Universal's Lone Survivor expanded into wide release this weekend, capturing the top spot at the domestic box office with an estimated $38.5 million. The fact-based Navy SEALs thriller bumped last weekend's champ, Frozen, to second place.


New release The Legend of Hercules didn't show much in the way of box office muscle, debuting in fifth place with an estimated $8.6 million. It was pretty much neck-and-neck with holdover American Hustle so Hercules could move up to fourth place when the final numbers come in from the studios Monday.


Last week's new debut, Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones, plummeted down to 9th place in its second weekend in release. Its current domestic cume is an estimated $28.5 million, which is about five times what the movie cost to produce but stands to be the lowest yet for the Paranormal franchise.
