Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon developer Next Level Games has announced it will work exclusively with Nintendo on future projects, according to Gamasutra.
For nearly a decade, the Canadian developer has worked on multiple Nintendo projects including Super Mario Strikers (GameCube), Mario Strikers Charged (Wii), Punch Out!! (Wii), and last year’s excellent Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon (3DS).
The announcement and Gamasutra interview did not indicate Next Level Games had been acquired by Nintendo.
“There are a lot of benefits to working with a first party. Nintendo's great, “ Next Level Games co-founder Jason Carr said. “ They give you the time to make the games good. They've done really well -- the Wii's done really well, the DS has done really well, the Wii U is not the strongest start but we trust that they'll come up with something to get it going, and the 3DS was a blast to work on."
