Nvidia's Tegra K1 Could Be the Future of Mobile Gaming IGN All

With the debut of Tegra K1, Nvidia has outlined a vision for mobile gaming that extends far beyond the realm of Angry Birds. This week at CES, the company offered a hands on time with the new mobile processor powering advanced graphics demos, including a first look at Trine 2 running on a tablet. With 192 graphics cores, Nvidia claims the Tegra K1 surpasses the Xbox 360 and PS3 and even some PCs, all while sharing common architecture with desktop GPUs. As a result, it's capable of many of the same graphics effects found in modern games, like sub-surface scattering, HDR lighting, and global illumination. Nvidia showcased these on Tegra K1-enabled reference tablets running its Ira facial animation demo and a new Unreal 4-based living room lighting demo.
