Hot off the heels of Andy Samburg's Golden Globe win yesterday for Brooklyn Nine-Nine, FOX has announced it's signed a production deal with Samburg's comedy troupe The Lonely Island.
The deal will allow Samburg and Lonely Island members Akiva Schaffer and Jorma Taccona to oversee the development of comedy projects incubated through digital platforms like Hulu and Roku, with the goal to turn these into fully-fledged series on FOX and its related channels.
“This is FOX’s third alternative development venture, and I’m ecstatic that we’re launching it with comedic geniuses The Lonely Island,” said Kevin Reilly, FOX’s Chairman of Entertainment.
