Dota 2 Launching New Fantasy League Feature IGN All

Dota 2 is getting its very own fantasy league feature just ahead of the start of DreamLeague Season 1, Valve has announced.


The new fantasy league feature, known as Fantasy Dota, builds on what was seen in the International 2013 Compendium. It works much like the fantasy leagues popularized by sports like American football, basketball, and baseball: Pro players are drafted by each member of the league, and those players' performances in the upcoming tournament earn their owners points in weekly head-to-head matches.


Up to six people can be in a league, each with eight players who can only be owned by a single person in a given league. Based on their play style, players are either grouped into the Core or Support type, with teams needing to have at least two of each (as well as one from either type) on their active roster.
